Wishing today was yesterday.

To watch the faces of our children light up.

To show them that there is life outside of video games and cell phones. To hear the crows in the trees. To have dirty feet, and no one cares.

To sit and watch the deer walk right up to you.

To feel the wind brushing across the water and see a fisherman in the distance. To eat  hushpuppies and catfish the neighbors in the camper next door brought over.

To listen to those older and wiser tell you how to cure an ailment.

To witness a father spending precious time with his children.

To be content in just doing “nothing.”

Oh, to be a kid again.

I see why Grandpa and Grandma Moore have lived here, tending the campground for 20 some odd years.

I want to thank my Big Injun for our weekend at Beavers Bend. A beautiful time was spent with his extended family. A break from the real world is just what we needed.

I am Rachel. I have a skewed sense of reality and I like to live through my imagination. Unfortuntely, that has taken me down some rocky roads and I am here to share some snippets of what happens when a girl has a mind of her own.
